Wesley Village Council

At a recently held Village Council Election earlier this year, there were five elected members. Ms. Jenny Barrie, Mr. Julien Jeremy, Mr. Gibson Christmas, Mr. Kenneth Telemaque and Mr. Mathew Prince were all re-elected. Ms. Niura Reid, Mr. R.E. Henry and Mr. Bonty Defoe were appointed to the Council by the Government of Dominica.

During a recent telephone conversation with Ms. Niura Reid she updated me on the different responsibilities of each member of the present Wesley Village Council. According to Ms Reid:

Mr. Julien Jeremy, Chairman – Village Beautification

Ms. Niura Reid – Sports, Culture and Fund Raising

Ms. Jenny Barrie – Senior Citizens Affairs

Mr. R.E. Henry – Education

Mr. Bonty Defoe – Agriculture and Entrepreneurship

Mr. Gibson Christmas – Disaster Preparedness

Mr. Kenneth Telemaque – Communication and Public Works

Mr. Mathew Prince – Religious Affairs

Should you have any inquiries or wish to contribute to the development of the Village, please forward your inquiries to the appropriate individual, Wesley Village Council, Wesley Village, Commonwealth of Dominica.

Dear All

Good evening. We had a wonderful launching on Sunday and we have no choice now but to hit the road. The time is short and the entire Wesley community here and abroad must do its duty. We have launched and there is no time to waist now we must work.

I am attaching an the outline of the two weeks program as well as a list of projects .It should be noted that this include some projects which will be completed long after the REUNION is over. Keep your eyes on the must activities. A secretariat will be established for the sole purpose of coordinating the implementation of the reunion activities.

Also attached is the address of the Chairman given at the launching calling for unity while outlining the objectives of the program

By the way the AH FUH AWE program should begin next week if all goes well. It will be based in Wesley and will be carried live on Kairi FM every Tuesday from 8.00 am. It will be a call in program and will be run by the people of Wesley in the community. It will be transmitted via the internet.
